The ratio in the submission should match the ratio in the policy

Risk and regulatory metrics are defined in policy, implemented in calculation engines and reported to supervisors. SynkBase keeps those three in agreement and shows who approved each version.

Where a regulatory metric lives

  1. Step 1PolicyThe approved definition of the metric.
  2. Step 2Calculation engineA change project updates the implementation.
  3. Step 3SynkBase comparesPolicy and engine disagree. The owner is notified.
  4. Step 4Approved before filingThe submission uses a definition with sign-off on record.

Where it goes wrong

A definition used in a regulatory calculation is updated in the engine during a change project. The policy document still describes the old version. The two disagree until a reconciliation or a supervisor finds it.

Proving which definition was in force on a reporting date usually means reconstructing it from tickets and email.

What SynkBase does for financial institutions

Policy and implementation compared

The approved definition is the reference. Drift between policy, specification and implementation is detected and routed to the owner.

Point-in-time evidence

For any reporting date, see which version of each definition was approved, who approved it and what depended on it.

Approval routing by impact

Changes that reach regulatory outputs follow a stricter approval path, set by rules you control.

Change cost made visible

Rework from late definition changes is priced from delivery data, so change committees see it before they decide.

Where the compliance hook sits

  • Risk data aggregation and reporting principles (BCBS 239)
  • SOX controls over financial reporting
  • Model risk and data lineage reviews

Shape SynkBase with us

We are working with a small number of organisations that live with this problem every quarter. Design partners get early access, direct influence on what we build first, and founder-level attention.
